When It Gets So Long That You Can't Do This Every Day Read Back Two Or Three Chapters Each Day; Then Each Week Read It All From The Start. That's How You Make It All Of One Piece.

Modern Life ... Is Often A Mechanical Oppression And Liquor Is The Only Mechanical Relief.

For A True Writer Each Book Should Be A New Beginning Where He Tries Again For Something That Is Beyond Attainment. He Should Always Try For Something That Has Never Been Done Or That Others Have Tried And Failed. Then Sometimes, With Great Luck, He Will Succeed.

But You Always Fall For Somebody Else And Then It's All Right. Fall For Them But Don't Let Them Ruin You.

Rereading Places You At The Point Where It Has To Go On, Knowing It Is As Good As You Can Get It Up To There. There Is Always Juice Somewhere.
