Piety Is Not An End, But A Means: A Means Of Attaining The Highest Culture By The Purest Tranquility Of Soul. Hence It May Be Observed That Those Who Set Up Piety As An End And Object Are Mostly Hypocrites.

If We Take People Only As They Are, Then We Make Them Worse; If We Treat Them As If They Were What They Should Be, Then We Bring Them To Where They Can Be Brought.

Whatever Is The Lot Of Humankind I Want To Taste Within My Deepest Self. I Want To Seize The Highest And The Lowest, To Load Its Woe And Bliss Upon My Breast, And Thus Expand My Single Self Titanically And In The End Go Down With All The Rest.
