I Cannot Give Up My Will -

God Has One Destined End For Mankind - Holiness! His One Aim Is The Production Of Saints. God Is Not An Eternal Blessing-machine For Men. He Did Not Come To Save Men Out Of Pity. He Came To Save Men Because He Had Created Them To Be Holy.

If We Pray Only Because We Want Answers, We Will Become Irritated And Angry With God. We Receive An Answer Every Time We Pray, But It Does Not Always Come In The Way We Expect, And Our Spiritual Irritation Shows Our Refusal To Identify Ourselves Truly With Our Lord In Prayer. We Are Not Here To Prove That God Answers Prayer, But To Be Living Trophies Of God’s Grace.

We Have The Idea That God Is Going To Do Some Exceptional Thing- That He Is Preparing And Equipping Us For Some Extraordinary Work In The Future. But As We Grow In His Grace We Find That God Is Glorifying Himself Here And Now, At This Very Moment. If We Have God’s Assurance Behind Us, The Most Amazing Strength Becomes Ours, And We Learn To Sing, Glorifying Him Even In The Ordinary Days And Ways Of Life.

The Lasting Value Of Our Public Service For God Is Measured By The Depth Of The Intimacy Of Our Private Times Of Fellowship And Oneness With Him.

Which Are The People Who Have Influenced Us Most? Not The Ones Who Thought They Did, But Those Who Had Not The Remotest Notion That They Were Influencing Us. In The Christian Life, The Implicit Is Never Conscious, If It Is Conscious It Ceases To Have This Unaffected Loveliness Which Is The Characteristic Of The Touch Of Jesus. We Always Know When Jesus Is At Work Because He Produces In The Commonplace Something That Is Inspiring.
