We Have A Choice About How We Take What Happens To Us In Our Life And Whether Or Not We Allow It To Turn Us. We Can Become Consumed By Hate And Darkness, Or We're Able To Regain Our Humanity Somehow, Or Come To Terms With Things And Learn Something About Ourselves.

And I Didn't Know What That Meant For A Long Time. It Was Only When I Began To Travel And Look And Live Beyond My Home That I Understand My Responsibility To Others.

When I Was Growing Up I Wanted To Adopt, Because I Was Aware There Were Kids That Didn't Have Parents. It's Not A Humanitarian Thing, Because I Don't See It As A Sacrifice. It's A Gift. We're All Lucky To Have Each Other.

I Think The Global Community Always Has A ... Has A Responsibility To Any Humanitarian Crisis. And I Think It's In Our Best Interest To Address A Humanitarian Crisis On This Scale Because Displacement Can Can Lead To A Lot Of Instability And Aggression.
