It Is Telling That This Aura Of Nobility Extends Only To Those Faiths That Still Have Many Subscribers. Anyone Caught Worshipping Poseidon, Even At Sea, Will Be Thought Insane.

There Must Be Right And Wrong Answers To Questions Of Morality And Values That Potentially Fall Within The Purview Of Science. On This View, Some People And Cultures Will Be Right (to A Greater Or Lesser Degree), And Some Will Be Wrong, With Respect To What They Deem Important In Life.

We Do Not Know What Awaits Each Of Us After Death, But We Know That We Will Die. Clearly, It Must Be Possible To Live Ethically-with A Genuine Concern For The Happiness Of Other Sentient Beings-without Presuming To Know Things About Which We Are Patently Ignorant. Consider It: Every Person You Have Ever Met, Every Person You Will Pass In The Street Today, Is Going To Die. Living Long Enough, Each Will Suffer The Loss Of His Friends And Family. All Are Going To Lose Everything They Love In This World. Why Would One Want To Be Anything But Kind To Them In The Meantime?

While Religious Tolerance Is Surely Better Than Religious War, Tolerance Is Not Without Its Liabilities. Our Fear Of Provoking Religious Hatred Has Rendered Us Incapable Of Criticizing Ideas That Are Now Patently Absurd And Increasingly Maladaptive.
