Business Is A Noble Vocation, Directed To Producing Wealth And Improving The World. It Can Be A Fruitful Source Of Prosperity For The Area In Which It Operates, Especially If It Sees The Creation Of Jobs As An Essential Part Of Its Service To The Common Good. This Common Good Also Includes The Earth... The Environmental Challenge We Are Undergoing, And Its Human Roots, Concern And Affect Us All.

The Holy Spirit, In The Variety Of His Gifts, Unites Us And Enables Us To Contribute To The Building Up Of The Church In Holiness. In This Great Work, Each Of Us Has A Part To Play; Each Of Us, As A "living Stone", Is Needed For The Growth And The Beauty Of God's Holy Temple. Let Us Ask The Lord To Help Us To Take An Ever More Active Part In The Church's Life And Mission, Guided By The Holy Spirit And With Jesus As Our Cornerstone.

As Long As The Problems Of The Poor Are Not Radically Resolved By Rejecting The Absolute Autonomy Of Markets And Financial Speculation And By Attacking The Structural Causes Of Inequality, No Solution Will Be Found For The World’s Problems Or, For That Matter, To Any Problems.

Education, Work, And Access To Health Care For All Are Key Elements For Development And The Just Distribution Of Goods, For The Attainment Of Social Justice, For Membership In Society, And For Free And Responsible Participation In Political Life.
