Today-it Sickens The Heart To Say So-the Discovery Of A Tramp Who Has Died Of The Cold Is Not News. Today What Counts As News Is, Maybe, A Scandal. A Scandal: Ah, That Is News! Today, The Thought That A Great Many Children Do Not Have Food To Eat Is Not News. This Is Serious, This Is Serious! We Cannot Put Up With This! Yet That Is How Things Are. We Cannot Become Starched Christians, Those Over-educated Christians Who Speak Of Theological Matters As They Calmly Sip Their Tea.

In This Quest To Seek And Find God In All Things, There Is Still An Area Of Uncertainty. There Must Be. If A Person Says That He Met God With Total Certainty And Is Not Touched By A Margin Of Uncertainty, Then This Is Not Good.

Are We Capable Of Bringing The Word Of God Into The Environment In Which We Live? Do We Know How To Speak Of Christ, Of What He Represents For Us, In Our Families, Among The People Who Form Part Of Our Daily Lives? Faith Is Born From Listening, And Is Strengthened By Proclamation.
